Beyond the Bone — 3D Modeling & Character Animation
This personal animation project explores character movement, timing, and visual storytelling through a 3D skeleton character. I modeled the skeleton in Blender from the ground up, using the project as an opportunity to develop my 3D modeling skills while experimenting with character design and animation. My goal was to bring an unconventional character to life through movement, posing, and personality, exploring how skeletal structure could create visually engaging and expressive motion.
Using Blender for 3D modeling and animation, I developed the character and brought it to life through movement and carefully considered timing. I then used Adobe After Effects for post-production, refining the final presentation and completing the animation. Inspired by my interest in horror, surrealism, and stylized animation, this project allowed me to strengthen my skills across multiple stages of the creative pipeline, from 3D asset creation to animation and compositing. These techniques continue to inform my approach to future animated shorts, visual effects, and motion design projects.
